BEAUTY TIPS FOR YOUR SKIN

Time for beauty tips...where my ladies get in here!!! I have a few beauty secrets to share..for yours truly.

There are plenty of beauty tips available for girls with fair skin, but what about some tips for girls who have darker complexions? Having a dark skin tone means that you have a different set of beauty rules from those that pale skinned girls follow and different tricks that you can use to make the most of your beautiful dusky complexion. It also means that you can use different techniques to bring out the best in your natural skin colour. If you think about it, you'll realize that beautiful skin is beauty. If you're spending less than fifteen minutes a day on your skin you're not doing it justice. Whether you're light skin, caramel coloured, dark chocolate or anything in between, you can have amazingly beautiful, acne free, even toned skin.

Here are some basic skincare tips that will help you get the complexion you've always wanted. A great skin starts with a solid skin care routine.

1. Exfoliate:

One of the most overlooked parts of an affective skin care regimen is having a good exfoliation routine. Every skin type will benefit from exfoliation. It removes the dead skin cells and brings back the natural colour of your skin. It will also help to clean out the pores and reduce your chances of a breakout. Just gently rub your face with a mixture of olive oil and sugar and that will do the trick. You don’t really need expensive store bought exfoliating lotions.
There's no better way to revive, renew and reveal healthier vibrant looking skin every day.

2. Moisturize:

To keep your skin looking young and beautiful and to make the most of that radiant dark skin, moisturise every day with a good quality moisturiser and moisturise your body after every shower. Always remove all your makeup at night, use a good facial cleanser to keep your skin perfectly clean. Never pick at pimples, or you could be left with scars on your skin. Those with dark skin, especially with dryness problems, tend to look ashy if skin is not moisturized properly. After your daily shower, make sure you apply a good moisturizer to keep your face and body well-hydrated. This will give you that clear, glowing dusky look.

3. Eat Healthy:

Ever heard the saying, "You are what you eat"? Well, it's the truth! What you put into your mouth is usually a great indication of what you see in the mirror. Especially when it comes to your skin. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables in your meals and watch your skin transform.

4. Use sunscreen

We have different shades of skin color in Nigeria from #teamlightskin to #blackandbeautiful, but the rules for wearing sunscreen apply right across all skin shades. Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because you have dark skin, the sun won’t damage it. Or thinking that the weather is rainy so no point using it. You may well not burn as easily as a fair skinned woman would, but the sun will still damage your skin and speed up the ageing process if you don’t use sunscreen.

5. Use a skin toner

Using a skin toner every day will keep your skin looking fresh and youthful. Skin toner also helps to get rid of excess oil in the skin and it will help clear up acne and close up the pores in the skin. A lot of people have never tried skin toner, but it really can make a huge difference to how good your skin looks.

6. Apply a face mask once a week

A weekly face mask will help to keep your skin moisturised and clear of blemishes. You can buy face masks, if you want to, but there are thousands of recipes for homemade facemasks that work just as well. Here’s just one homemade face mask recipe for you to try. Mix one tablespoon of honey with one egg, apply it your face and leave to sit for ten minutes before you wash it off with lukewarm water. You can adjust this simple recipe to suit different skin types. If you have oily skin, then use the white of the egg only and, if you have dry skin, use only the yolk..
